The Nokia N95 set early standards for smartphones. It had:
- S60 Symbian OS.
- MP3 player.
- 240x320 pixel TFT display.
- SMS and MMS.
- 5 megapixel digital camera with Carl Zeiss optics and Tessar lens.
- Video capture.
- Video calling.
I've owned a silver Nokia N95 for quite some time now. In retrospect I'd have prefered the black N96 which is very similiar, but has more memory and a bigger screen but it wasn't available at the time. The two phones are very similiar though.
The N95 is very intuative and contains just about every function that you'd want from a mobile phone, such as the ability to play MP3s, Videos, GPS, and the obvious texting and call features. Earlier versions of the firmmware were a bit buggy but those issues have now been ironed out.
Overall, I'd have to give this phone an eight out of ten. It's very reliable and simple to use. I've dropped it a few times and it hasn't died on me yet, so you can add 'sturdy' to that list too.
